5G and 4G LTE routers
A 5G router is a wireless router that gets its internet connection from a cellular network through a SIM card.
A 5G router or 4G LTE router takes a SIM card and makes WiFi from a cellular signal. They suit rural homes, RVs and backup internet.

Can a 5G router replace my home internet?
It can if you have strong 5G signal where you live. I'd test with your phone first and check the data cap on your plan.
Do I need an unlocked router?
If you want to switch carriers, yes. I'd pick an unlocked model so you're not stuck with one SIM.
