Router Prices

Which router do I need?

A router picker is a tool that matches a home's size, speed plan and device count to a router.

Answer three questions to settle “which WiFi router do I need?” for your home. You get the three cheapest routers that fit, each with a buy link.

1. How big is your home?
2. How fast is your internet plan?
3. How many devices use your WiFi?

Your three picks

Answer all three questions to see your picks.

Home size

Over 3,000 sq ft or more than one floor gets a mesh system. A mid-size home needs a router rated for at least 2,000 sq ft.

Plan speed

A plan over 1,000 Mbps needs a WAN port faster than 1 Gbps. The picker prefers WiFi 7 or 6E for these plans.

Devices

Over 30 devices prefers a 3-band router. If fewer than three routers fit, the picker drops the band rule first, then the WiFi rule, and tells you.
