Do I need a gaming router to stop lag?
Probably not. Most lag comes from WiFi distance or your ISP. I'd plug your console in with Ethernet before I paid for a gaming router.
What should I look for?
Good QoS, a 2.5 Gbps port and solid firmware. I'd skip models where most of the price is the RGB lights.
