Should I still buy WiFi 5?
Only if you're on a tight budget and a slow plan. A cheap WiFi 6 router costs only a little more, so I'd go with that.
Will WiFi 5 slow down my new phone?
A bit. Your phone will fall back to WiFi 5 speeds. For browsing and streaming you probably won't notice.
