A travel router is a small portable router that shares one network connection with all of your devices on the road.
A travel router shares one hotel login with all your devices. It can also run a VPN for everything behind it.

Why use a travel router instead of hotel WiFi?
You log in once and every device just connects. I also like that your laptop and phone sit behind your own firewall.
Does it need its own power?
Most run on USB-C, so a phone charger or power bank works. I'd check the watts before you count on a small bank.
